By 2030, THIS Will Be the #1 Career Skill?
And most kids haven’t had a chance to build it yet

📌 Here’s what you’ll learn in today’s issue:
Why “judgment” may become the most valuable skill your child can develop—far more than a tech skill like coding
3 simple ways to start building that skill at home (no tech required)
How college students are beating AI detectors and what it says about the future of learning
Why one major company is quietly re-hiring humans after replacing them with AI
🧠 The Big Idea: Why Judgment Is the True Future-Proof Skill
We are approaching a future in which all people will have access to AI tools capable of coding, analyzing, and creating content.
That may sound like job security is vanishing into thin air, but not to futurist Jonathan Brill.
AI is becoming integral to all aspects of the business, from strategy to operations. But this is where the trap comes in:
AI only responds to questions when data exists. It possesses no instinct, no gut, no moral compass.
It doesn't understand context unless we give it one. That's where your child fits in.
Brill argues judgment—the ability to make sound decisions on partial information—is the last domain AI can't reach.
And it's more valuable precisely because AI is capable of so many things otherwise.
In fact, he says, all your interns these days have more context at their disposal than most CEOs did a decade ago.
Which is to say your child may soon be asked to make executive choices… with AI as counselor.
But only if they're taught to:
Ask great questions
Think critically
Consider the big picture
Recognize when not to believe the machine
While the world is already changing rapidly, the disruption is just getting started.
But the good news is, your child still has every opportunity to thrive in this new world.
Because while AI can code, calculate, and even create…
It still can’t care, judge, or lead with wisdom.
If we help our kids build that, they won’t just survive the AI era, they’ll shape it.

Raise a Child with Sound Judgment: 3 Simple Habits
AI should augment your child's executive judgment, not replace it. Here is how you can start nurturing that skill today:
Decision Journaling
Before dinner or before sleep, ask:
"What was a single decision you made today? Why did you make it?"
This simple reflection hones their power of description and analysis of choices.
Spot the Unknown
When watching a movie or reading a book, pause and ask:
"What's something that the characters don't know yet that could turn it all around?"
This trains your child to see ambiguity—something a machine cannot recognize.
AI-Helper Test
Give your child a simple question to ask an AI chatbot (like ChatGPT). Then ask:
"Was that advice complete? What could be omitted?"
Builds healthy skepticism and enhances judgment along with tech use.
Remember your child’s true value in the AI world
As Jonathan Brill says:
"If it's in the database, you don't need to know it."
Your child's value lies in what is NOT in the database.
