4 critical conversations every parent needs to have with their kids
Here at Future Proof Parent, our mission is to help parents get their children ready for the AI integrated world that is to come.
And while things are already changing quickly…whew boy! You ain’t seen nothing yet!
In five years, our prediction is that the world will be totally unrecognizable.
So, that’s why we got excited when we saw in a groundbreaking national survey by Samsung Solve for Tomorrow that 88% of parents believe AI literacy is crucial for their child's future success.
Awesome!
Yet…81% aren't sure it's even being taught in schools.
So, while the vast majority of parents recognize AI's importance for their children's future careers, most have no idea if this essential skill is part of their school curriculum.
Not so great.
But no big deal because we’ve got you covered.
Here’s the thing:
This isn't just another educational trend, it's a fundamental shift that's already reshaping industries from healthcare to finance to creative fields.
And the bottom line is simple: we’re not going to be able to rely on school systems to navigate our way through this.
Yes, that means mom and dad are very much going to be integral in helping out.
Here’s the simple game plan to help you proactively bridge the AI knowledge gap:
1. Explore Together
Introduce age-appropriate AI tools as family learning experiences. The survey found 89% of parents believe AI-powered educational games significantly enhance learning.
2. Engage With Educators
Ask specific questions about AI integration in your child's classroom. According to the survey, 84% of parents consider additional teacher traIning on AI crucial.
3. Focus on Ethics
Discuss responsible AI use at home.
An overwhelming 92% of parents emphasize the importance of teaching about potential negative impacts alongside benefits.
By taking these steps today, you're not just supplementing your child's education—
you're helping them develop the AI literacy that 88% of parents agree will be essential for future success in virtually any career path.

What Did the WEF Say This Time?
Now, whatever your personal opinion of the World Economic Forum aside, they did just release a 290 page report on the “Future of Jobs 2025.”
Yeah, it’s got a lot of stuff in it. But don’t worry, we went through it for you as it covers what the job market is going to look like through 2030.
Again, it’s 290 pages, so we’ll definitely be covering more on it over the next few issues, but to start, here are the major skill sets we should all be looking to develop in our kids:
Analytical thinking and innovation
Active learning and learning strategies
Complex problem-solving
Critical thinking and analysis
Creativity, originality, and initiative
Leadership and social influence
In other words, and in all seriousness, all the stuff they don’t necessarily teach in school.
But again, don’t worry, because we’ve got you covered here at Future Proof Parent.
Today we’re going to start with how to get your kids to be better problem solvers.
Ask your child how they’d work through this real world example:
"Hey, let’s say this happens: The cafeteria’s payment system goes down right before lunch no one can buy food, people are getting frustrated, and lunch break is ticking away. If you were in charge, what would you do to solve the problem?”
Would you come up with a backup system, organize the line differently, or help people stay calm?
How would you think it through and lead in that moment?"
